We Have An Answer To
Your Question
1. What is the cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours notice of change/cancellation for all reservations. If you notify us of any changes/cancellations to your reservation 48 hours or more prior to your flight date, we will not charge you a fee. Any changes/cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to your flight date are subject to a full fee.
2. What happens if my flight is cancelled due to weather?
Although we have the most flight days per year from any part of the country, inclement weather can happen. For this reason, we always recommend that you book your balloon trip at the beginning of your stay so that you have alternative dates for your flight in case the weather is unfavorable on your selected flight date. In the event of a weather cancellation, there is no charge, and you can reschedule by arrangement or cancel your booking entirely.
3. Do we have to book in advance?
Advance bookings are required and unfortunately last minute flights cannot be accommodated. Reservations can be made in a few different ways:
Email: contact@skyfantasy.ro
Phone: 0749811420
4. How do I make a flight appointment?
For passengers wishing to take a hot air balloon ride it is recommended to book 14 days before the flight. The flight is generally made in groups of 3-4 passengers and the journey takes about an hour. Flights depend very much on the weather conditions so a few days before the flight date we contact the client by phone for information and details about the trip.
5. Can we fly in winter?
Yes, we can fly. Hot air balloons are good for flying in cold weather, they can operate safely and better because there is a greater temperature difference to the warm air inside, the heavier air outside helps the balloon’s buoyancy. In winter you can fly the hot air balloon during the day too.
6. How do I dress for the flight?
We recommend appropriate clothing depending on the time of year and the weather on the specific day you are flying. Depending on weather conditions we may land on wet and muddy fields.
7. How many passengers are in the balloon?
The capacity of the balloon depends on the size of the envelope and the air temperature outside. Our balloon is 3,400 cubic meters in size. The balloon can carry 3-4 passengers and a pilot. The maximum total passenger limit is 350 kg pilot.
8. What time of year is best to fly?
We schedule flights throughout the year from most locations.
9. How long does a balloon flight take?
The balloon ride itself usually takes 30 – 60 minutes. The total time spent with us on the morning of your flight is approximately 4 hours. This includes a flight briefing from your pilot, completion of paperwork, travel to and from the launch and landing sites.
10. How high will the balloon go?
Balloons are incredibly versatile, so on the morning of your flight you might find yourself flying anywhere between treetop height and 2 or 3 thousand feet.
11. Is it cold in the air?
In general, balloon flight is no colder than on the ground. The small drop in temperature at the altitudes at which we fly is offset by the heat produced by the overhead burners. We recommend that you dress to be comfortable for the early morning ground temperature. Keep in mind that the temperature will rise after sunrise, so it is recommended that you dress in layers.
12. How do you drive a balloon?
Winds determine the direction of hot air balloons. Pilots can steer a balloon to a limited extent by adjusting the balloon’s altitude and using different wind speeds and directions. Burners are used to heat the air and make the balloon rise. The pilot can stop ‘burning’ fuel to stay level before the balloon starts to descend. Aerating the hot air through the top makes you descend faster. Pilots follow the wind patterns and adjust their altitude to move the balloon in different directions depending on where they and their passengers would like to go.
13. Is the hot air ballooning dangerous?
There is an implicit risk in everything we do. They say it’s safer to fly a balloon than to drive a car. Ballooning is just like any other sport: if you follow the rules and are responsible, it’s as safe as you make it – and we pay attention to every detail and have extensive experience in the field. That’s why you can rely on us and feel 100% safe.
14. How are the hot air balloons inflated?
The balloon tyre is deployed on the ground and a motor-driven fan fills the balloon with air. After the envelope is inflated, the air inside is heated with a special burner. The balloon will rise and then rise off the ground as the air is heated further.
15. What physical/weight requirements are required?
To ensure a safe and enjoyable hot air balloon experience, each passenger must meet the following physical requirements:
Minimum age of 5 years and 120 cm tall.
No load at time of flight.
No broken bones or recent surgery at time of flight.
Passengers must be able to stand for the duration of the flight (approximately 60 minutes).
Passengers should be able to jump from the second step of a ladder.
Must be in good general health.
A signed liability waiver is required for all guests flying and/or traveling in our vehicles.
